APECC (Ayala-Paseo Executive Chess Club) is holding a tournament once again that will cater to all non-master, executive chess players around Metro Manila. See below details:
Date: Saturday, March 24, 2018; 9am (Round 1 starts at 10am)
Venue: Shakeys Makati Square (Air-conditioned), Chino Roces Ave., Makati City
Eligibility: Executive chess players
*** those employed with managerial and supervisory functions in private and government offices, service professionals, legal and medical practitioners, accountants, engineers, and others deemed qualified by screening committee – working professionals with college degree/diploma.
Rating: Not higher than 2055 NCFP Rating as of March 1, 2018
We saw a lot of blood drawn in the opening round of the Candidates Tournament 2018, the tournament that will determine who will be this year’s challenger to Magnus Carlsen in the World Chess Championship 2018.
Shahkriyar Mamedyarov, Vladimir Kramnik, and Fabiano Caruana led the opening round rampage. The victims: Sergey Karjakin, Alexander Grischuk, and Wesley So, respectively.
